2008 SEASON ABOARD
THE BLACKSTONE VALLEY EXPLORER
and SAMUEL SLATER BRITISH CANAL BOAT

The Blackstone Valley Tourism Council (BVTC) is
pleased to announce that they will resume river
tour operations for the 2008 season aboard the
Blackstone Valley Explorer;
a 49-passenger riverboat. and the
Samuel Slater, an authentic
British canal boat; at Central Falls Landing
located at the corner of Broad Street and
Madeira Avenue. River Engineer, Ramon
Rodrigues, with the assistance from LJ Crane &
Rigging Company, will return the boats to the
Blackstone River in Central Falls on
Tuesday, April 29 starting at 8:00am.
America's
only authentic British canal boat, the
Samuel Slater canal boat offers a serene
bed & breakfast overnight opportunity with
sleeping accommodations for up to four guests.
Celebrate your special occasion aboard the
Samuel Slater, birthdays, anniversaries,
supper cruises, wine & cheese cruises available
by reservation.
The Blackstone Valley Explorer will
be available for public tours every
Sunday June thru August in at 1, 2, 3, and 4
pm. Tickets are $10.00 adults, $8.00
children & seniors. Reservation are
recommended. Once again Citizens Bank
Foundation will underwrite "Free Sundays on
the River" the first Sunday
of each month from June through
September and on Sunday,
October 12.
Special programs will be offered during the
summer including, twilight cruises, family
programs, and our popular noontime "Bring
Your Own Lunch" cruises as available. For a

can also be scheduled for educational
programs, corporate charters, or group tours
by reservation only starting in May.
A cruise along
the Blackstone River whether aboard the
Explorer or the Samuel Slater
Canal Boat is an experience you don't want to
miss. Once out on the river, you leave behind
the urban world of industry for a serene oasis
of natural beauty.
In late August the Blackstone Valley
Explorer moves to Market Square in
Woonsocket and sails from the Thundermist Dam up
to MA/RI border in Blackstone, MA, which
provides an opportunity to discover the river's
Eco-Industrial past while observing the
changing seasons. The Fall Foliage is
splendid along this stretch of the river.

Blackstone Valley Explorer Cruise along an American Heritage
River aboard this 49-passenger riverboat. Tours leave from Central Falls landing
from June 8 to August 24 and leave from Woonsocket landing from August 31 to
November 2, 2003. One-hour public tours are offered on Sundays at 1pm, 2pm,
3pm, and 4pm. Available for charter use and for scheduled narrated and custom
tours as well as various educational tours.

presented by Blackstone Valley Tourism Council - Board one of the river's unique river boats on a guided tour. These trips are very affordable. Choose from "The Ferry Boat Renaissance" Leave from Pawtucket or Providence, RI and
enjoy a 45 minute cruise aboard this European style vessel which holds 29 passengers.
Tickets:
$2/adult, $1/child 5-11, Free under 5. "The River Boat Explorer" holds 9 passengers and includes a narrated tour departing on the hour from Central Falls, Pawtucket and Market Square, Woonsocket.
$6/adults,$5/children.
