Burrillville Farmers’ Market

Grand Opening – May 17, 2008 – 9am to 12noon

The 2008 grand opening of the Burrillville Farmers’ Market takes place on May 17, 2008 going from 9am to 12noon. The first Annual Plant Sale takes place on opening day as growers from Burrillville, Glocester and Smithfield will be on hand to offer plants for the growing season, and tips and advice on how to grow them. This is the second year for the market and the first of what will be an annual opening day plant sale.

“We were very successful with last year’s market. We received lots of support from the Burrillville Town Council, the The Burrillville School Department and the residents of Burrillville. But now we have to keep the quality up and the momentum going to the standards that everyone expects.” so says Paul A. Roselli - president of the Burrillville Land Trust, sponsor of the market.

The Burrillville Farmers’ Market takes place at the Levy School in Harrisville, at the corner of Harrisville Main Street and East Avenue (Route 107). The parking lot next to Levy school will be the location for the market. Parking is provided at both the municipal parking lot on East Avenue and at the new library parking lot on Harrisville Main Street.

“All the growers and farmers are back from last year along with new faces and new produce. This year will be an exciting and challenging season for the market as we try to grow to meet and exceed the expectations of our customers and have some interesting stuff to sell. Remember we are all about being fresh and local,” says Pat DiLorenzo, market coordinator for the farmers’ market.
