As a parent and a volunteer helping with various committees and fundraisers for the schools, my local heroes are the small business people who time after time donate to the cause - unlike some of the corporate storfronts who are not vested in the local community as deeply. Obviously, there are exceptions to this - but thanks to each and every small business owner who cares!
