Are you looking for an
opportunity to make a difference in your community? Would you
like to learn more about the plants, animals and natural
resources in your backyard? If so, then the Blackstone River
Watershed’s (BRWA’s) Stream Team needs your help!
In collaboration with the
Commonwealth of Massachusetts Riverways Adopt-A-Stream Program,
the BRWA will be conducting a river survey along the West and
Mill Rivers during the month of May. The data collected from the
survey will be used to determine which factors are negatively
affecting the river (pollution, erosion, trash etc.). River
surveys are an excellent opportunity to learn more about the
local resources, spend time with family and friends, and is a
great way to make friends and build connections within the
communities.
Together we can help protect,
restore and advocate for healthy rivers, resources and
communities.
Interested volunteers should
plan to attend the Shoreline Survey Training Workshop on Monday,
May 14th at 6:30pm at Riverbend Farm, 287 Oak Street,
Uxbridge, MA. Refreshments will be served.
For more information or to
register for the training session, please contact Michelle
Walsh, Stream Team Coordinator, at the BRWA’s office at
508-278-5200 or via
email at
info@thebrwa.org.
