Egg-citing” fun in Burrillville
Saturday, March 15, from 11:30-1145 am, the
Burrillville Parks & Recreation Department presents the town’s annual
Easter Egg Hunt for local children and their families, at Branch River
Park, next to the Middle School, in Glendale village.
The Easter Bunny will visit with
youngsters, and prize winning eggs in each age category will be given to
Burrillville residents age eight and younger. Children who participate in
the Egg Hunt should bring a basket or pail to collect eggs. A rain date has
been set for Saturday, March 22, 2008.
The Town of Burrillville was
established in 1806 and originally annexed from the town of Glocester and is
named for James Burrill Jr., who while serving as State Attorney General,
assisted in establishing the town.
Burrillville grew quickly,
its economy driven by a textile industry until the 1950's when the textile
industry in the Northeast began to move south. It was the mills that led to
the development of the Town's numerous villages.
Details on the Easter Egg Hunt are
available by calling 401-568-9470 or online at
