    The Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce is pleased to co-sponsor the Blackstone Valley Youth Fishing Derby to be held on APRIL 25, 2009 at the West Hill Park at the recreation area in Uxbridge, MA. The event will take place from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. with prizes awarded for various categories of trout- from largest to smallest. In addition, 60 specially tagged trout will be released before the event, each tag representing an additional prize donated by event sponsors. An awards ceremony and participant cookout will take place at 1:30 in the recreation area pavilion. 

The 3rd Annual Youth Fishing Tournament on April 25 will Kick off this year's 5 month
Blackstone Valley Trout Fishing Derby on West River from Upton to Uxbridge, MA.
Tournament time 9am-1pm, check in is at the West Hill Park in Northbridge.
Trophies and prizes will be awarded at 1:30 pm to lucky young anglers who catch fish that day.
Limited to the first 250 youth to register. Pre-registering is requested!
 
With youth ages 3-14 registering by April 12th they will receive a bag of tackle, an official derby T-shirt, live bait and a ticket to the cookout at noon. Trout will be stocked prior to the derby.
 
The derby will then Open to everyone on Sunday April 26. Registration $10 donation for Youth and Adults, T-Shirts available for $8 (while supplies last). Any 2009 tagged trout caught by a registered angler is eligible to receive up to 3 prizes during the Derby. Prizes will be awarded at the Fin and Feather Sports Shop in Upton, MA (508)529-3901.
 
We are looking for sponsors of this great event, we publish an ad booklet for the derby that all supporter will receive an ad or will be listed in it. There are 3 levels of sponsors, listed on our website. * The website will be updated for 2009 soon!!!

The Massachusetts Division of Fish and Wildlife will stock West Hill park a few days before the event. The Derby will feature trophies and prizes for many categories, such as the top six largest, first caught, smallest and tagged fish based on age divisions. Even after the event, the 60 tagged trout will be available to be caught for prizes up until October 15, 2009. We'll be following those lucky winners throughout the summer on the web at www.BVFishingDerby.org, as well as through local news stories and photographs throughout the Valley.
