“A Place for Difference ~ A Different Kind of Place”

Our 3rd Annual Townwide Book Discussion features

“The Runaway Quilt”

by Jennifer Chiaverini

and will explore the use of quilts during the mid-1800s
to assist slaves fleeing north along the Underground Railroad.
Hopedale was believed to have been a "station"
on the Underground Railroad during that time period.
By reading this book and sharing the legend of the use of quilts,
more of Hopedale's unique history will become known to our residents.
