MEDWAY - Medway Pride Day is less than 2 weeks away! Great
entertainment,
exciting games and activities, delicious food, valuable raffles, and booths
with crafters and local businesses…it’s all planned for Medway Pride Day on
Saturday, May 17 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Medway Middle School’s Charland
Field (or inside the gym if it rains) on Holliston Street.
Great new prizes have been added to Pride Day’s Button Raffle. These
include gift certificates to June’s Place, Coffee Sensations Fine
Feathers/Duck Feathers, Enchanted Fox, and Famous Pizza. NWG Auto has
donated a Lube, Oil& Filter. In addition Domino’s Pizza Gift Card and a
vacuum/blower from Condon's Hardware will be raffled. Additional Button
Raffle prizes include 300 Paw Sox tickets, autographed items from Indy
driver Sara Fisher, a large item from Swenson Granite Works, and Gift
Certificates from Remedy Massage, Shear Magic, car washes, jewelry, Mary
Kay, Saddle Rowe, Pampered Chef. Each day, the list of raffle prizes grows.
Buy your Button Raffle pin at Classic Properties, Town Hall, Medway
Co-operative Bank, Shear Magic or Strata Bank. Medway Pride Day T-shirts
are also available at these locations.
Activities abound on Medway Pride Day. The ReMax hot air balloon will be
visible about the fair grounds and if weather permits, some lucky Pride Day
visitors can take a tethered balloon ride. Young and old alike will get a
close up look at car #69, a 2006 Monte Carlo driven at Thompson Speedway in
the Late Model Division by George Munger of Franklin, MA. NWG Auto Repair is
sponsoring the racecar at Pride Day.
Everyone can explore Medway’s fire trucks, ambulance, police cars,
motorcycles and ATVs that will be on display. And there’s even an Army Tank
to investigate close up. Shriner clowns and jugglers are expected to
attend. Get up close to the animals from Bob Hebeler’s Alpaca Farm too.
Children will have many different games and activities to choose from.
Perennial favorites like the Moonbounce, Bungee Run, and Xtreme Obstacle
Course will be back. And the new Titanic Slide ride will deliver thrills as
rider plunge down the incline! Take your best shot with the basketball
game, tic-tac-toss, and tin can alley. For those youngsters with a creative
streak, T-shirt painting, sand art, hair and face painting will be available
throughout the day. The following community oriented business that have
provided financial support or contributed materials for the children’s games
and activities include: Paramount Industries, Medway Block, Gingley Funeral
Home, Medway Lions Club, Strata Bank, Metrowest Golf, Kenney & Kenney,
J.C.Woodworking, Fasolino Home
The main stage will feature performances by students from Flipside
Gymnastics, Medway Dance Authority, Seishin Martial Arts Studio, and The
Little Gym. Musical performances by the Charles River Chorale, Mario & the
Singing Custodians, Songs for Caileh will lead up to the event’s featured
band, Midlife Crisis. Roche Brothers Supermarket has very graciously
provided a donation to offset the expense of much of Medway Pride Day’s
entertainment.
A limited number of booths are still available for $50. If you are a
business owner, crafters or member of a local organization, don’t miss out
on this opportunity to have your own booth to showcase your special goods
and services. Food vendor booths are still available for $75. Already
committed for the food court are: Medway Lions Club serving Hot Dogs &
Hamburgers; Supreme Pizza; St Joseph Youth Group; Charles River Chorale
serving Cotton Candy; Democratic Town Committee serving sausage & pepper
subs.
Many local businesses have generously donated to Medway Pride Day to sponsor
children’s games and activities, or to offset expenses related to the event.
