With your support, you will
help EARTH educate others on
environmental issues as many animals
on planet Earth face environmental
challenges that threaten their
habitats and species. EARTH offers
a multitude of programs for
education and also facilitates
eco-travel to other parts of the
world to gain insight into other
cultures and lifestyles. EARTH
travels responsibly to natural areas
to become aware of threatened
habitats and other environmental and
conservation issues.
And The
Summer Worship
At Southwick’s Zoo
The First Evangelical Congregational Church of
Uxbridge and the Earth Discovery Center at the Southwick’s Zoo
cordially invites families in your church to enjoy a special worship
at the Southwick’s Zoo in Mendon Massachusetts this summer.
We have chosen to
move outside our church building to focus on worship that embraces
stewardship of the earth. We are covenanting with the zoo and Earth
Limited Inc. to honor our covenant with the earth and its creatures.
For 8 weeks this summer, we invite you to come
on one of the Sundays to worship at the Earth Resource Center at the
zoo. The Resource Center is a presentation area with a stage and
pavilions used to present special nature programs. It is ideal for
our worship. Each of the services will include hymns, prayers,
offering, scripture, a message and a nature segment. Rev. Gordon
Merten, interim pastor and Betsey Brewer, President of Earth Limited
Inc. have developed the worship and nature segment. The schedule is
as follows:

Worship is at 9am as the Zoo opens at 10am
Special Offer
- If you attend worship – you receive a group rate to enter the
Zoo: It is an $8 savings for adults and a $5 savings for children.
This may be done right at the Resource Center. If you choose to
become a member of Earth Limited for $60 per adult or $40 per child,
you can come to the Zoo free for a year.
You will be
greeted at the Parking Lot and directed to the Resource Center if
you want to walk or ride. For those who have difficulty walking,
there is a carryall vehicle that will transport folks to and from
the Resource Area. If you just wish to worship and experience this
unique service, you can leave and return to your car.
